It offends me that Fox Television has chosen to use ADHD (Animation Domination High Definition) as the title of their new late night animation program. The program is comprised of six 15 minute programs. Since the programs are half of the time of a typical comedy Fox is using ADHD to promote that the shows would appeal to people with low attention spans. If Fox was making light of another disability I believe there would be more of an uproar. Since ADHD is often misunderstood by the general public Fox feels that it can get away with making light of a learning disability. Even though I enjoy animation I will not watch this program because of the title.

One issue that ADHD entrepreneurs struggle with is that they are able to come up with many ideas to make money, but they do not have the time or resources to properly act on all of the ideas. Business owners often end up trying to integrate too many of these good ideas into their existing business. This is a recipe for failure because it can confuse and overwhelm existing and potential customers. It can also cause you to reduce your focus on the things that are making currently making you successful. The best way to keep your focus on your business is to have a business plan.
There are many great resources that will help you in establishing a business plan. Personally I like the template on the Small Business Administration website. It will help to guide you by developing a business plan step by step. Developing a business plan can still seem overwhelming to many budding entrepreneurs. To keep it simple, start by asking yourself these three questions.
What product or service do I want to provide?
Is there a need for the products or service I want to provide?
Who are my customers?
If you have a successful business venture you should already be able to answer to your first two questions. If you want to be able to keep and expand your business, it is vital that your understand everything you can about who your customers are and what their needs are. With this understanding you will be able to determine what additional ideas you can incorporate into your business, and what ideas won't be a good fit for your business.
The correct medical term for Attention Deficit Disorder is ADHD. There are 3 subtypes of ADHD: Predominantly inattentive(commonly called ADD), Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and Combined. Through out this blog and the ADHD related sites linked from this blog the terms ADHD, AD/HD, and ADD are used interchangeably.
