Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a process which models the behavior of successful people, and learn from the behaviors. Many adults with ADD/ADHD have used NLP to help them deal with their challenges. In Carol Harris book " NLP made easy" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0007155468/103-1415501-8257411 she offers several ways of dealing with tasks that you find difficult ( Bill Paying, Budgeting etc.):
When dealing with a task you don't like, visualize yourself completing the task. By doing this you can focus on how good you will feel after the task is completed.
If you find a task boring you could reward yourself for spending a certain amount of time on a task. For every 30 minutes I spend budgeting I play a game of Yahtzee on the Internet.
If you are having trouble starting a task, you should step back and breakdown the task into chunks. For example if you are planning to pay bills you would breakdown the process step by step. I would break down the task like this:
1. Assemble Bills
2. Order bills by date
3. Figure out how much you need to pay
4. Write Checks & Put in Envelope
5. Address Envelopes
6. Stamp Envelopes
7. Mail Envelopes
If you are having a problem with feeling you can't handle a task, think back to a time where you have successfully handled equally challenging tasks. If you can handle planning your company's budget surely you can handle preparing your personal budget. Maybe that internal voice in your head is telling you can't do a task. There are techniques using NLP that will help you change both the words and negative sound of your internal voices.

Sounds like good advice. Sometimes I get stuck in one of the details of the overall task and I don’t finish. I’m not a perfectionist but I focus one tiny details to much.
