PFBLOGS.ORG is offering a prize to the person who exposes the website to the greatest number of people offline. Since the biggest prize is currently $200.00 the goal is to expose the website without spending a lot of money. This lead me to think about non-traditional marketing without spending a lot of money. One idea that I came across was to put a sticker on dollar bills promoting the website. (Ads appear on dollar bills) While it is illegal to deface US currency, putting a sticker that can be peeled off is OK. According to the article they estimated that each bill will pass between 25 and 40 people. If you were able to put a sticker on 1,000 bills the website would be seen by between 25,000 and 40,000 people. Putting an advertisement for a personal finance site on money seemed like an obvious fit to me. If anyone has a creative way to market the site offline without spending money, please post a comment.
