ADDA Conference vs. Other Conferences

Many of you reading this website are probably not aware that I DO NOT have ADD. My wife has ADD and is the director of ADDCLASSES.COM. Last week I was helping her to promote ADDCLASSES.COM at the ADDA Conference in Orlando. Most of the participants have ADD and there are several differences between the ADDA Conference and other business conferences that I have attended.

          1. At most conferences the time on the schedule is when a class or sessions starts. At the ADDA Conference the time on the schedule is when people start to think about attending a session.

           2. Most other conferences do not have a bookstore that sells cool toys. I bought a little ball that lights up in pretty colors when you smash it real hard. My wife bought a yo yo ball that was filled with liquid.

            3. The business cards that we exchanged during the conference came in every color, size and style imaginable. Adults with ADD are more sensitive to visual stimulation and it is important to be visually different when preparing ADD related marketing material. The only down side to this is that some of the business cards are hard to fit into a Rolodex.

             4. The people attending are so open and friendly. I have never been to a conference in my life where people are so willing to talk to you and to share their feelings and stories about how having ADD has affected their lives. Most other conferences that I have attended has not involved as much hugging as ADDA. (In fact this was the first conference where I hugged anyone)
