ADD Friendly ways to save on your Grocery Bills
During these uncertain economic times it seems that everyone wants to find ways to save on their grocery budget. The problem is that many of the traditional ways to save money on your grocery bill are not ADD friendly and can actually be counterproductive. Clipping coupons can help you save money, but only if they are for products that you actually use and you remember to bring them before they expire. While you can save money on certain items at super-centers and warehouse stores, you are more likely to overspend on impulse items and buy larger quantities of products than you need. Comparing prices at different stores on a weekly basis can be confusing and overwhelming.
Here are a few ADD friendlier ways to save money on food shopping:
1. Buy generic items - For many items you can save money with little or no noticeable difference.
2. Buy fruits and vegetable in season - Fruits and vegetables are cheaper when they are in season in your area, and have more flavor so that you are more likely to eat them
3. Shop with a list - Using a list will help you avoid impulse purchases
4. Shop alone - Shopping with your spouse or children will likely lead to additional spending on items that you do not need.
5. Prepare easy to eat food to use when you don't have the time or desire to cook. Making your own frozen dinners and having items like cooked chicken or hardboiled eggs on hand makes it easier to prepare simple meals. Making simple meals will help you avoid unnecessary trips eating out or having takeout.

These are some really good ideas - think about all the money that you could save by just buying fruits and veggies when they're in season!
