Memorial Day is a time to honor all Americans who have died defending this country. It is also the unofficial start of Summer. Staying motivated our your goals can also be difficult in the summer. The heat and humidity can physically drain you, and the desire to go outside to enjoy the weather and spending extra time with friends and family can distract you from your goals.
Here are a couple of tips to help you stay motivated during the summer:
* What is your motivation? Since summertime can decrease you ability to stay motivated, now is a critical time to think about what you want to accomplish and why it is important to you. Having the extra motivation will be a key advantage in actually completing your summer goals, rather than having another unfinished goal or project.
* Enjoy outdoor activities with friends and family. Summer is short, and if you deprive yourself from enjoying summer because you don't want to spend money or feel it will distract you from accomplishing your goals it will likely backfire. There are many activities that you can enjoy without spending a lot of money and spending time outdoors will give you the break you need to allow you to give more focus on the things that you want to achieve.
* Limit the number of goals you want to complete before the end of Summer. Summer can be a time where there are less activities and less distractions that the other three seasons of the year. Take advantage of the fact that you have limited distractions to truly focus on the one or two really important goals that you want to complete.

Getting outside can be reinvigorating for me. When I'm at work, instead of taking my break inside and eating in, I have been making it a point to go outside for at least a few moments. It's been very helpful!
